Fiji head Pool C in Gold Coast 7s

Fiji head Pool C for round one of the HSBC 7s World Series 2013/2014 at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast.

Fiji face Wales,Canada and Portugal in pool play on day one on Saturday, 12 October.

The national side will take on Canada in their opening game at 1.58pm, then face Portugal at 3.14pm before wrapping up pool proceedings against Wales at 7.24pm.

As HSBC Sevens World Series champions, New Zealand head Pool A and will face Kenya, USA and regional qualifiers Tonga.

Last season's runners-up South Africa line up top of Pool B and face matches against a triumvirate of European challengers, England, France and Spain.

As the fourth-ranked team in 2012/13, the Samoans are the top seed in Pool D and face hosts Australia, Argentina and Scotland.

To finalise the pools, the IRB said seeding was based on the final standings of the 2012/2013 Series.
