Wallabies Coach Michael Cheika has named six Fijian players in his 34-member squad for June Test series against Fiji, Scotland and Italy.
Rugby League convert Marika Koroibete who joined the squad for the Spring Tour last year is expected to make the final match day squads next month while Reds winger Etonia Nabuli gets a recall.
Samu Kerevi, Henry Speight, Tevita Kuridrani and Sefanaia Naivalu have been retained from last season’s squad.
Young guns Lukhan Tui (Reds), Richard Hardwick (Force) and Ned Hanigan (Waratahs) have earned selection in their first Wallabies squad after impressive performances in Super Rugby while Joe Powell (Brumbies), and Karmichael Hunt (Reds) will get their second taste in camp after being called up to the June squad last year.
Jack Dempsey (Waratahs), a development player on last year’s northern hemisphere tour, has earned selection in the main squad after returning from an ankle injury last weekend for Gordon in Sydney’s Shute Shield.
Queensland forward Scott Higginbotham also rejoins the Wallabies fold for the first time in almost two years, after his stint in the Japanese Top League and Will Genia is the only overseas based player in the squad after wrapping up duties with French club Stade Francais.
Some big names that have missed out on selection include Scott Fardy (Brumbies), Kane Douglas (Reds) and Waratahs quartet Rob Horne, Will Skelton, Dean Mumm and Jake Gordon.
The squad will marches into camp on Sunday.
