Stylish Zahid set for Ba reunion

Former national marksman Abbu Zahid is all set to reunite for Ba for the upcoming Courts Inter District Championship in Lautoka next month.

The 26-year-old who netted two goals in the final against Nadi and helped the Men In Black clinch the 2015 edition of the IDC at Govind Park in Ba is back in the country after a short stint in New Zealand.

Zahid who was part of the national squad for the 2016 Rio Olympics pulled out and flew to New Zealand to take up a playing contract with Franklin United in Auckland.

He returned home in August and was initially linked to Lautoka, but doubts were cleared late last week as he joined Ba in training and has since been attending the daily sessions with the squad.

Meanwhile defender Marika Madigi is also set to make a comeback to top level football.

After spending a couple of seasons in Canada, Madigi is back home and has been training with Ba for the past two weeks.

Also in line to don the Ba jumper in the new window is Suva defender Aakash Sharma.

Sharma who made his debut for Ba in 2012 before moving to Rewa and then Suva in the last season, applied for his release last week and looks set to make an appearance for his home side in the IDC.

Ba is grouped with defending champion Labasa, Rewa and Dreketi in Group A of the 2017 Courts IDC which will be played from 10-15 October.
