Fiji FA coaches assist Labasa for IDC

Defending Courts Inter District champions Labasa have acquired the services of Fiji Football Association coaches for their title defence at Churchill Park in Lautoka next week.

The Babasiga Lions were left without a Coach after Gurjit Singh decided not return from the United States of America last month.

Veteran Taniela Waqa was coaching the side initially but after fruitful discussions, the executives of Labasa FA were able to get help from the parent body.

Current Northern Division Development Officer and former national goalkeeper Iosefo Vosaboto took charge of the team last week while national coach Christophe Gamel has also agreed to assist the Northerners.

Gamel flew to the North today where apart from helping Labasa, he will also be holding sessions and sharing his expertise with coaches and players of Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Savusavu and Nadogo.

Labasa is pooled with last year’s runner-up Ba, Rewa and Dreketi in Group B and will open its campaign on Tuesday at 5.30pm against the Men In Black.
