Fijiana through to semifinals

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team has progressed to the semifinals of the 2017 Oceania 7s Championship in Suva after two wins and a loss.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached side thumped Samoa 36-0 and Tonga 52-0 before going down to Australia 28-5 in its final pool match this afternoon.

Fiji will face Group A toppers and world champs New Zealand in the first semifinal tomorrow at 1pm.

The Australians who top Group B with a hundred percent winning record will play Group A runners-up Papua New Guinea in the second semifinal at 1.20pm.

Day 1 Results: Australia 28-5 Fiji, Samoa 22-7 Tonga, NZ 15-0 PNG, Cook Islands 71-0 Tahiti, PNG 77-0 Tahiti , NZ 26-5 Cook Islands, Fiji 52-5 Tonga, Australia 57-0 Samoa, Australia 59-0 Tonga, Fiji 36-0 Samoa, NZ 70-0 Tahiti, PNG 12-12 Cook Islands.
