Top midfielders return for Labasa

Three top midfielders will return for Labasa in their all-important Champion vs Champion fixture against Lautoka at Churchill Park on Friday night.

Former national captain Amani Makoe returns from a one match suspension and is expected to feature in central midfield for the Babasiga Lions while Anish Khem and Edwin Sahayam are also returning after missing the first leg at home which ended in a 0-0 draw.

Khem was nursing an ankle injury while Sahayam who got married recently was away overseas on honeymoon.

The return of the three players should further bolster Labasa’s attack as they featured strongly and made life difficult for Lautoka in the midfield area at Subrail Park.

Both Lautoka and Labasa have won the Pillay Garments CVC twice. Labasa won the inaugural event in 1993 and their second win was in 2008 while Lautoka claimed the title in 2010 and last year.

The much anticipated match will kick off at 7pm.
