Fiji Tuwawa fails to shine in Brisbane

The Fiji Tuwawa (Giants) side failed to click on the opening day of the 2018 Brisbane Global Tens Tournament at the Suncorp Stadium and suffered losses in both its matches yesterday.

The Senirusi Seruvakula coached side lost its first match 19-12 to the Brumbies despite leading 7-5 at halftime.

Captain Mosese Voka and former Reds winger Chris Kuridrani scored the tries for Tuwawa while Henry Speight scored a double for the Brumbies and Chance Peni dotted down the wChriinner late in the match.

Indiscipline proved costly for the Fijians as two yellow cards were flashed to Serupepeli Vularika and Joeli Veiteyaki  for late tackles.

In the second match late last night, the Hurricanes defeated Fiji Tuwawa 12-5.

The side plays its last pool match against an unbeaten Crusaders outfit at 5.04pm.
