Imports fail to click as Nadi holds Rewa

Rewa and Nadi played to a goal-less draw in the lone Vodafone Premier League fixture at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today.

The Delta Tigers despite fielding newly signed Setareki Hughes, Josefata Neibuli and Siotame Kubu in their starting line-up failed to click upfront and score goals while Nadi with its regular lineup was stronger in defence.

Captain Vereti Dickson played a grand game between the sticks for the visitors while strikers Napolioni Qasevakatini and Rusiate Matarerega created some good scoring opportunities but failed to go past the Rewa defence which was marshaled well by Neibuli.

The result pushes Nadi to the top of the VPL Standings with 4 points after two matches while Rewa earns its first point of the season after losing its opener 3-2 to Suva last month.

The teams:

Rewa- Benito Waqavou, Peniame Drova, Posiano Kalisito, Josefata Neibuli (C), Mitieli Namuka, Martin Nasova, Taione Kerevanua, Setareki Hughes, Sairusi Nalaubu, Siotame Kubu, Gabriele Matanisiga.

Nadi- Vereti Dickson, Ilimotama Jese, Ame Votoniu, Mosese Balenagaga, Afraz Ali, Zainal Ali, Patrick Joseph, Rupeni Rabici, William Valentine, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Rusiate Matarerega.
