Labasa registers second VPL win

Labasa registered its second win of the Vodafone Premier League after beating Tavua 5-2 at Subrail Park yesterday.

The Babasiga Lions looked very composed throughout the encounter and went up in the 11th minute via a Ratu Apenisa Anare goal.

Defender Antonio Tuivuna scored their second goal two minutes later and nippy marksman Ashnil Raju made it 3-0 in the 30th minute.

Tavua managed to pull one back just before halftime through Malakai Sivo and a blunder early in the second half by goalkeeper Shaneel Naidu saw Vilive Naulalevu narrow the scores to 3-2.

The hosts lifted their performance midway in the second spell and managed to net two more goals through Tuivuna and Ratu Anare to seal the win.

Labasa now has 6 points after playing three matches.
