Tavua upsets high-flying Jetsetters

Newly promoted Tavua created the biggest upset of the Vodafone Premier League at Garvey Park yesterday, beating current leaders Nadi 1-0.

The Saroj Kumar coached side did not disappoint its loyal fans who turned out in numbers to support the team in its first home match of the season.

Goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi featured very strongly in both halves and made some daring saves to keep a clean sheet in the match.

The teams rested 0-0 at the break and the hosts managed to apply continuous pressure towards the end of the encounter and striker Vitilati Kautoga became the hero as he slammed in the winner.

Despite the loss the Jetsetters still lead the VPL standings with 10 points after 5 matches while Tavua now has 3 points after playing two games.
