Ba youngster included in Fiji team

17-year-old Ba midfielder Kishan Sami has been named in the 23-member Vodafone Fiji Football team for the international friendly against the Philippines in Manila this Thursday.

Sami, a former Fiji U17 rep has been outstanding on the local scene so far this season and also had a good outing with the Men In Black in the group stage matches of the OFC Champions League in Vanuatu.

Apart from Sami, Coach Christophe Gamel has also named impressive Nadi midfielders Patrick Joseph and Marika Rawasoi in the squad together with Suva’s Epeli Leiroti, Sakaraia Naisua, Filipe Baravilala, Savenaca Nakalevu and Labasa marksman Ratu Apenisa Anare.

Suva defender Remueru Tekiate will lead the side and he will be assisted by veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.

Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna who joined camp today is the lone overseas based player in the team.

The team departs our shores tomorrow morning.
