Fiji faces Kenya in Vancouver 7s final

Fiji fought tooth and nail to beat South Africa 15-12 and seal its spot in the grand finale of the Vancouver 7s at the BC Place Stadum today.

As expected, the semifinal clash proved to be a thriller and South Africa got off to a flying start with Captain Phillip Snyman scoring their opening try.

Josua Vakurunabili raced away to score for Fiji and narrow the gap to 7-5 before Dyan Sage scored South Africa’s second try which gave them a 12-5 halftime lead.

The Fijians lifted their performance and scored two tries through Kalione Nasoko and replacement play-maker Amenoni Nasilasila to seal the important win.

Fiji will face Kenya in the final.

The Kenyans worked extremely hard to come from 14-0 down to beat USA 24-19 in their semifinal match.

The final kicks off at 1.19pm (Fiji Time).
