Baber makes 2 changes for Singapore 7s

Fiji Airways Men’s 7s Coach Gareth Baber has made two changes to his team for this weekend’s Singapore 7s.

Police forward Keponi Paul gets his big call-up to replace an injured Jasa Veremalua while lanky Sevuloni Mocenacagi replaces Semi Kunatani who has returned to France after playing in the Commonwealth Games.

Baber has retained veteran Isake Katonibau and also included Waisea Nacuqu while Tabadamu playmaker Terio Tamani will be the 13th player and will get his big break if there are any injures during the tournament.

Meanwhile Olympian Vatemo Ravouvou has been dropped from the final squad as he failed to recover from flu and fever.

Fiji kicks off its campaign against Japan at 5.36pm tomorrow before facing Russia at 9.02pm and Spain in its final pool match at 12.28am on Sunday.

The Cup quarterfinals kick off at 4.30pm on Sunday while the semi-final starts at 8.50pm and the final is scheduled to be played at 12am on Monday.

Fiji 7s squad- Isake Katonibau, Kalione Nasoko, Mesulame Kunavula, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Paula Dranisinikula, Josua Vakurunabili, Keponi Paul, Jerry Tuwai (C), Amenoni Nasilasila,Eroni Sau, Waisea Nacuqu and Alosio Naduva.
