Fiji through to Commonwealth semis

Fiji has progressed to the gold medal semifinals of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast of Australia after beating Wales 21-17 in a nail biting pool decider last night.

France based Semi Kunatani scored a late try to seal victory for the Fijians as they trailed 17-14 to the Welsh midway in the second half.

In their earlier matches, the Gareth Baber coached side walloped Sri Lanka 63-5 and thrashed Uganda 54-0.

Fiji will face ach rivals South Africa in the second semifinal at 2.03pm while New Zealand will take on England in the first semifinal at 1.43pm.

The gold medal final will kick off at 5.04pm (Fiji Time).
