Fiji thumps Samoa in HK 7s opener

Defending champion Fiji kicked off its campaign in Hong Kong in style this morning by thumping Samoa 31-12 at the So Kon Po Stadium.

The Fijians scored five tries in the match through Eroni Sau, Kalione Nasoko and Vatemo Ravovou in the first half to lead 17-0 at halftime.

Amenoni Nasilasila and France based Olympian Semi Kunatani scored two further tries in the second half while Samoa also scored two tries.

Fiji plays Russia at 5.54pm in its next match and then faces New Zealand at 9.54pm.
