Mocenacagi stars in big Fiji win

Lanky forward Sevuloni Mocenacagi scored a hat-trick of tries as Fiji walloped Sri Lanka in their opening match of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast of Australia today.

The Sri Lankans scored an early try to lead 5-0 but a double from Mocenacagi and tries from Alosio Naduva and Semi Kunatani saw Fiji grab a 28-5 halftime lead.

The second half completely belonged to the Fijians as they scored five unanswered converted tries through Mocenacagi, Naduva and replacements Paula Dranisinukula and Amenoni Nasilasila (2).

Fiji plays Uganda in its next match at 7.53pm and will round up its pool play against Wales at 11.33pm.
