Blues name 5 youngsters in FACT squad

Lautoka has named five youth players in its final squad for the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT which kicks off on Friday in Nausori.

The Blues have included Fiji U20 striker Semi Matalau, Merrill Nand, Shivnil Chand, Arami Manumanubai and Waisea Kotoisuva.

Manumanubai made his debut in the OFC Champions League and impressed in the matches he played.

Kiwi midfielder Cory Chettleburgh who was a key member of the team in the OFC Champs League has returned to New Zealand while Brian Kaltack who has been named in the squad is also in doubt as he is believed to have secured a new contract in New Zealand and is wanted by his club for pre-season matches.

Evergreen Solomon Islands international Benjamin Totori could be the only foreign player in the tournament and his scoring prowess and experience should boost the attack force in the absence of suspended Samuela Drudru.

Meanwhile rugged defender Laitia Tuilau who was dropped from OFC Champs League squad has forced his way back in the team and should play a key role in the backline with Kolinio Sivoki, Kavaia Rawaqa and veteran Jone Vesikula.

Lautoka opens its campaign against Suva at 6pm on Friday.

Lautoka- Senirusi Bokini, Praneel Naidu, Zibraaz Sahib, Shazil Ali, Poasa Bainivalu, Jone Vesikula, Dave Radrigai, Kavaia Rawaqa, Benjamin Totori, Semi Matalau, Merrill Nand, Laitia Tuilau, Edward Justin, Shivam Naidu, Peni Finau, Osea Vakatalesau, Kolinio Sivoki, Arami Manumanubai, Shivnil Chand, Brian Kaltack, Waisea Kotoisuva, Beniamino Mateinaqara.
