Rewa registers first win of VPL

Rewa registered its first win of the 2018 Vodafone Premier League today after beating Tavua 3-0 at Garvey Park.

The two teams entered the field with three points each with Rewa’s points coming from three draws.

Policeman Gabriel Matanisiga scored the lone goal of the first half for the Delta Tigers in the 8 minute to give them a handy lead at the break.

An Epeli Saukuru corner kick early in the second spell was buried into his own net by a Tavua defender, extending Rewa’s lead by 2-0.

Striker Sairusi Nalaubu netted the final goal of the match in dying minutes after neatly beating the defence and tapping the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi.

Rewa now has six points after playing all of its matches in the first round of the competition and is placed sixth on the standing while Tavua sits at the bottom of the table with only 3 points after 6 games.
