Naitasiri retains Farebrother Trophy

Naitasiri will keep the HFC Farebrother trophy till the new season after winning the final challenge 27-13 against Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today.

The Highlanders maintained their discipline, consistency and focus from the previous two challenges and played with a lot of determination and confidence.

Forward Filimoni Seru scored a brace of tries in the first half to give the Koli Sewabu coached side a narrow 12-10 halftime lead.

Naitaisiri proved to be the stronger of the two sides in the second half and scored two more tries through replacement Mosese Gavidi and impressive fullback Meli Nakarawa to seal the win.

The Ratu Inoke Tuisese skipped side snatched the HFC Farebrother Challenge trophy from Namosi at Thompson Park last month after registering a 21-20 win and successfully defended the silverware against Nadroga last Saturday by posting an impressive 26-17 victory in Nausori.
