3 overseas based reps included in Fijiana XVs

Vodafone Fijiana 15s head coach Mosese Rauluni has unveiled the extended squad for the 2024 Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship.

The squad will include three overseas-based players, adding international experience to the predominantly local team.

These players are: Doreen Narokote and Iris Verebalavu, fresh from their seasons with the Queensland Reds and Brumbies in Australia’s Super W league respectively, along with Bitila Tawake, who played with Chiefs Manawa in New Zealand.

Coach Mosese Rauluni says he is satisfied with his team selection and is eager for the upcoming international season.

He spoke about the importance of the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship, noting that qualifying for next year’s World Cup is their main goal.

“Our first big game is against Tonga, and we’ve chosen most of our players from Drua. We’ve worked very hard over the past two weeks,” Rauluni said.

The tournament will run from May 24th to June 2nd.
