315k Fijians vote as counting begins

Counting has started at all polling stations around the country.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem said the 1,435 polling stations have now become counting stations and officials are sorting out the ballot papers in the presence of Police officers and polling agents.

Saneem said counting of the pre-poll and postal votes is also underway at the National Count Centre at the Vodafone Arena.

“There has been around 51 percent voter turnout for the 2022 general elections as at 5pm today.”

The Fijian Elections Office has confirmed that 315,000 of the 606,092 people have voted.
