38 teams for Vodafone Cup 2024

The Fiji National Rugby League’s Vodafone Cup 2024 is set to begin this weekend, with 30 men’s teams and eight women’s teams expected to compete over 16 rounds.

This year’s tournament places a strong emphasis on grassroots development and aims to bring rugby league back to the heart of local communities.

Fiji National Rugby League CEO Don Natabe says this will be the main focus of the tournament, especially after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Natabe also mentioned that one of the key challenges the league faces is securing suitable venues within a limited budget.

However, he says it’s important to form partnerships with town councils and field owners to hold games at accessible venues.
