68.3pc voter turnout in General Election

The 2022 General Election had a 68.3 per cent voter turnout and this according to the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem is more than the turnout in the 2018 Election, both in terms of number of voters registered and those that voted.

A total of 473,910 Fijians out of the 693,915 registered voted this year.

There were 470584 valid votes while 3326 votes were declared invalid.

In terms of divisions, 197,604 voters out of the 301,192 registered in the Central Division turned up to vote on Wednesday 14 December.

177,601 out of the 258,030 registered in the Western Division voted while in the North, 72,904 out of  the 98,674 registered voters turned up to cast their ballot.

In the Eastern Division, 18,269 out of the 26,103 registered voters cast their ballot while 7529 out of 9916 that applied for postal ballot, sent in their votes via courier.
