Assault claims are baseless: Moceisuva

Deputy Commissioner of Fiji Corrections Service, Auta Moceisuva has rubbished claims of an alleged assault at the Naboro Maximum Facility.

Responding to former SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula’s claims, Moceisuva said both the prisoners allegedly mentioned to be assaulted, are in good health and that there was no incident as reported.

Moceisuva said they verified the alleged assault claims yesterday and have found that nothing of the sort reported Nawaikula took place at the Maximum Corrections Facility.

“These allegations are baseless,” he said.

Moceisuva said they still maintain the zero-tolerance policy on assault at the FCS and there are procedures in place to deal with those accused of or are found breaching the policy.
