Batirerega ready for Fiji 7s debut

Fiji 7s newcomer Josese Batirerega is eager to prove his worth in Hamilton and Sydney 7s.

The former Dominion Brothers forward who now players for Police hopes to add strength to Fiji’s attacking and defensive game plan.

“The Fiji 7s team is the aim for all upcoming 7s players, and to get my opportunity is a blessing,” the 25-year-old from Vanua Levu said.

“But it is also easier said than done, there is a lot to live up to as the players before me have set a benchmark.

“The best for me is to continue how I have done in coming into the team and going one better.

“I will look to play as a team, and use what I skill set I do have to help the team get to where it needs to be.”
