Olympic gold medalist Napolioni Bolaca will be off the radar for sometime as Coach Ben Gollings wants him to undergo surgery and rehabilitation.
Gollings said Bolaca who had a stint with the Fijian Drua, needs surgery and full recovery to regain his lost form.
“Naps is a fantastic player and I have my eye on him,” Gollings said.
“Post the Olympics he pushed on and on and then when he came back to us he was pushing but it was starting to be a bit detrimental to the way he was actually operating.
“And for me welfare for players is key and I’d like to see him on the field but now getting that operation and getting back to full health will be key.
“Bolaca will return and will be playing the best rugby that is in him.”
“So the target for him is he’s not out of my view.”
“He’s not out of our selection, but the moment he’s he needs the operation.”
“Once we can get him an operation and get that sorted he’ll come back fitter and better and stronger than I think he ever has done,” Gollings added.
