Breach of Cabinet confidentially: NFP

The National Federation Party says it will be writing to the People’s Alliance Party on the conduct of the Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection Lynda Tabuya for her conduct.

NFP General Secretary Kamal Iyer has confirmed  to FijiLive, the the issue is in regards to Minister Tabuya’s serious allegations against the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Professor Biman Prasad, over last week’s controversial vote on Parliamentary remuneration.

“The allegations are for the most part false, possibly defamatory, and in some cases breach Cabinet confidentiality.” Iyer said

“Professor Prasad cannot respond to those allegations without also breaching Cabinet confidentiality – which he will not do. Lynda Tabuya’s outburst is unbecoming of a Cabinet Minister and breaches the good faith obligations of the Coalition Agreement which binds the parties in Government,” Iyer said.
