Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica say the Government’s aspirational target going to Auckland, New Zealand for the Fiji Outsourcing Symposium was $500 million.
Speaking to FijiLive outside Parliament, Kamikamica said this went well altogether, and they managed to meet with over 400 potential business people during their visits to business houses, relevant stakeholders and foreign Government representatives.
Kamikamica said they have had significant meetings and there has been a lot of interest in alternative energy, renewable energy, agriculture, manufacturing and Information Technology businesses, who are wanting to set up business in Fiji.
“The key now is to develop a pipeline and at the same time try to run this quickly or create a pathway to bring to Fiji in actual terms.”
Kamikamica said the Government will soon make an announcement in this regard, while at the same time try to gather the information from the 2023 Fiji Outsourcing Symposium.
“Positive responses have come from former Fiji residents that want to set up businesses in Fiji and at the same time give back to Fiji,” Kamikamica added.
