Confidence boosting win fires up Fijiana XVs

The confidence boosting 48-3 win over Tonga in the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship has charged up Vodafone Fijiana 15s players.

Considering the Fijiana XV squad has majority Fijian Drua Women’s players, Head Coach Mosese Rauluni shared the importance of this win for lifting the team’s spirits, particularly following the Fijiana Drua’s Super W season where they lost in the Final.

“It’s great to get the girls’ confidence back.”

“We started the game with some discipline issues, but once we found our rhythm, things started to improve,” he said.

Looking forward, the team is preparing for their next matches, with Raulini pointing out the significance of each upcoming game.

“We have a big game against PNG next, and then an even bigger game against Samoa, who beat us last year in the last second,” he explained.

The team plans to focus on reducing penalties, especially during scrums, to improve their game play further.
