Debutant Tuiqalau clinches double gold

In a remarkable debut on the international scene, Fijian weightlifter Koro Tuiqalau has made history by winning double gold at the Oceania Weightlifting Championships in Auckland, New Zealand.

Competing in both the Youth and Junior men’s 102kg categories, Tuiqalau’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, lifting 86kg in the snatch and 107kg in the clean and jerk.

This victory not only puts Tuiqalau on the map as a promising talent in weightlifting but also showcases the depth of potential within Fijian athletes.

Speaking on his success, Tuiqalau dedicated his victories to his family back home, crediting their  support as the driving force behind his achievement.
