Employment PS Cawaru retires

Ministry of Employment, Productivity, and Industrial Relations Permanent Secretary, Osea Cawaru has retired from the civil service after an illustrious career spanning over 33 years in the service, including over nine years as Permanent Secretary.

Speaking on behalf of the Employment Team during his farewell, Atish Kumar, Director of Labour Standards Services, thanked Cawaru for his leadership, work commitment and guidance during his tenure with the Ministry.

He said the outgoing PS’s exemplary leadership style has motivated staff to work efficiently and diligently in providing timely and quality customer service at all times.

In his address, Cawaru thanked all the ministry staff, the former Minister and Assistant Minister.

He also congratulated the new Minister who joined the Ministry this week and reminded staff of the Bible verse Ecclesiastes 3:1, which reads, “To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven”.

He shared that it is important to have a good heart towards people and always respect your colleagues, and enjoy the time spent with them at work.

Cawaru highlighted that different leaders have different leadership styles, but one of the main lessons he learnt over the years is to always include God in all his plans.
