FCS remains committed to transparency

Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Services, Dr Jalesi Nakarawa says their commitment to transparency and integrity remains unwavering and they fully support the FICAC investigation into allegations of abuse of office by former Acting Commissioner Salote Panapasa.

He said as investigation proceeds, they will ensure that it progresses without any undue influence.

“We are committed to ensuring transparency and maintaining the integrity of our institution. To this end, Ms. Panapasa will be on leave pending the outcome of the FICAC investigation. This measure is taken to allow for an impartial and thorough examination of the allegations.”

He said once the investigation is concluded, the Fiji Corrections Service will review the findings and make an informed decision based on the results.

“The Fiji Corrections Services remains dedicated to upholding justice and the rule of law, and we trust the due process will bring clarity to the situation.”
