FHTA congratulates Rabuka, thanks last Govt

The Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association (FHTA) which represents the private sector stakeholders in the tourism industry has congratulated newly elected Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the incoming Fijian Government following their confirmation by Parliament on Saturday.

FHTA chief executive Fantasha Lockington said they look forward as always, to working closely with the Government to continue advancing Fiji’s tourism industry to its preeminent position in the region.

She said the Association is also thankful to the outgoing Government for their achievements in steering Fiji through the pandemic, enhancing our economic welfare and national security.

“Great strides had been made to ensure that tourism could survive the border closures and enable its revival after the 1 December 2021 reopening and we are optimistic that this can continue given that the industry remains the country’s largest GDP earner pre-and post-pandemic.”

“The Association maintains its stand as an apolitical body but reaffirms its desire to continue working closely with the Government of the day.”

“FHTA wishes a successful tenure for all the elected representatives and supports the principles of serving with integrity, fairness, and respect for the rule of law and the people of Fiji,” said Lockington.
