Fiji Airports recorded $1.6m profit in 2020

Fiji Airports Limited recorded a $1.6 million profit before tax for the year 2020.

This has been highlighted by the Assistant Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Alitia Bainivalu while presenting the Fiji Airports Annual Report 2020.

Bainivalu said Fiji Airports declared a total of $175 million in dividends over the last six years, from 2014 to 2019.

She said despite the unprecedented dividend pay-out, the total shareholders’ equity stood close to half a billion.

“The operation of Fiji Airports was severely affected by the prolonged COVID-19 global economic crisis, which negatively affected its revenue. However, it remains steadfast to resolve to emerge stronger as an organisation having in necessity gained insights, developed strategies and prudently restructured its business model for the future,” she said.

The Review of the Fiji Airports Annual Report 2020 was tabled in Parliament this morning under the Standing Order 109 (2)(b).
