Fiji Airways limits passengers and baggage to Tuvalu

Fiji Airways has announced that following the breakdown of the airport refuelling facilities at Funafuti International Airport in Tuvalu, the national airline is unable to take on the fuel at Funafuti necessary for the return trips to Suva.

Fiji Airways has been advised by the Tuvalu authorities that they expect to restore the refuelling capability at Funafuti by 10 September.

The airline is making every effort to assist the Tuvalu authorities in this but until then, it is forced to carry fuel for the return FUN-SUV sector, and consequently we must reduce the number of guests and baggage carried.

“We have contacted guests potentially affected by this restriction and working with them to find a resolution.”

Fiji Airways is advising anyone wishing to get further advice on the refuelling situation at Funafuti to contact the Tuvalu High Commission in Suva or the nearest Tuvalu diplomatic post.
