Fiji is open for business, says Prasad

Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, says Fiji is now open for business and is willing to work with those that are willing to grow our economy.

In a press conference, Prof Prasad assured businesses, investors and everyone associated that they will continue to dialogue and consult moving forward.

Since Monday, he said that he has already had numerous meetings with his Permanent Secretary, Shiri Goundar and the Governor of the Reserve Bank, Ariff Ali on the state of the economy.

“I’ve already been receiving a lot of feedback and a sense of optimism from various sectors and a sense of confidence since the formation of Government. People have been very excited about the new way of running things and that the Government’s job is to facilitate all these things.”

“I have no doubt in the capabilities of the staff of the Ministry of Economy in the work they continue to do on a daily basis, and we will work hard to deliver what we have promised to the people of Fiji,” he added.

Prof Prasad is also expected to appoint members of his ‘Fiscal Review Committee’ within the Ministry of Finance.
