Sisters Sheenel and Shynal Bidesi entertain the crowd during the 2009 Hibiscus Festival Indian Night at Albert Park in Suva.

The Indian Night at the Hibiscus Carnival pulled one of the biggest crowds in recent times as young and old alike came to witness and be part of the colour and festivity at Albert Park hive.

People from all walks of life flocked to the Park in numbers to witness the entertainment and try out the delicious food and a variety of rides and amusements and activity at the annual event.

Various Indian and multi cultural groups from all across the southern division converged at the main stage to display their talent and entertain the jam packed crowd on the Albert Park Pavilion and the makeshift stands erected to cater for patrons.

The finalists in the Fiji Dance Competition, Asian category; Tailevu Norths St Vincent College stole the hearts of many with their Indian cultural dances depicting legend and coupled with modern day dance too.

Also taking part at the meet were the Muanikoso Dance Group who awed the crowd with their superb dancing skills and colorful costume.

A live orchestra and variety of local singers also kept the night loud and alive.

To signify the Indian Night theme, the contestants from the various categories also dressed up in Indian attire and made appearances on the main stage also.

The FBC stage on the Tennis Court end of the park also had a lot of entertainment for people with lots of dancing, singing, jokes and competitions.

The Radio Fiji 2 staff also took to the stage to display their singing and dancing skills.

The food stall owners also got into the Indian night mood and decorated their stalls colorfully apart from dressing themselves in shiny and colorful Indian outfits.

With the Indian night over, people of Suva are now bracing for the Fijian night lined up for tonight.
