Australian-based Fijian singing sensation Paulini Curuenavuli will feature at next month's Give Back to Fiji charity concert in Suva.

Fijian-born Australian pop singer and songwriter Paulini Curuenavuli will be part of the Give Back to Fiji Charity Concert that will be staged in a bid to empower our young people through music and song with key information on relevant issues.

The two-day concert next month which is set to be staged at Suvas Vodafone Arena will also feature some Fiji artists living abroad who are pursuing their careers in music and song in different parts of the World.

Curuenavuli who is the co-founder of the multi platinum selling girl group Young Divas will feature along with Dee Uluirewa from the Hillsong Gospel Choir, Vanessa Quai who is known as the youngest South Pacific Queen in Music as well as ex-American Idol Suzy Vulaca Krantz.

With the Rescue Mission Community Association being the biggest driving force behind the Charity Concert, coordinator Felisha Hazelman says the Give Back to Fiji Charity concert is one of its kind for Fiji.

The concert anticipates using this arena for three objectives, Hazelman told Fijilive.

First to raise funds for school fees for the children and youths who mainly live in squatter settlements for the next year 2010 and secondly to empower our young people through music and songs with key information on relevant issues that they are confronted with everyday such as HIVs, STIs, dealing with drugs, dealing with mental health, making wise choices and lastly to bring good Christmas cheer in the month of December.

The program encourages young people to attend with international and local artists being actively involved as advocates for the issues addressed.

The registration fee is $5 and it includes lunch, refreshment and entry to the concert in the evening, said Hazelman.

The Rescue Mission Community Association will also host market vendors from around Fiji selling exotic food, home made cakes and biscuits, jams, jellies, second hand clothes, painting, books and Fiji made art and craft.

Hazelman said details of the concert will be made public through various radio stations and media outlets.

The concert is set for December 11-12. Ticket will be $5 for adults and $3 for children.
