The Lil Champs lived up to their promise to set the stage on fire with a rocking concert in Fiji's capital Suva last night.

The four Little Champs of India awed music lovers in Suva with their singing talent during the first of their four Fiji shows at the Civic Centre last night.

The Vodafone sponsored event recorded a houseful audience with people enjoying a solid three hours of power-packed performances from the youngsters.

Indian Idol finalist and show host Harish Moyal got the night underway with a classical number and the four little champs followed with their solo performances.

The theme of the night was retro to metro with the stars starting off with some all time golden hits.

Mansi Bharadwaj was the first on stage and she sang a classic old number Aao huzoor tumko. Next up was Aishwariya Anand who sang another classical number Aaa ye Mehrebaan.

Vyom Kapoor awed the audience with a Mohd Rafi hit and the show stopper, 12 year old Tanmay Chaturvedi, the second runner up in the Sa Re Ga Ma Lil Champs competition brought the crowd to their feet with his hilarious performance and breathtaking singing skills.

The champs continued to rock the crowd with hit numbers like Soniyo from the film Raaz 2, Twist (Love Aaj Kal), Aahoo Aahoo (Love Aaj Kal), Yeh Mera Dil (Don), Mauja (Jab We Met) and so on.

The audiences were also given the chance to join the stars on stage and those that went on the stage raised the tempo of the show with their dancing skills, getting loud cheers and applaud from the crowd.

The Vodafone Lil Champs will be performing at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori tonight and show promoter Ajendra Prasad is urging patrons to get their tickets prior to the show.

We had a houseful audience in the Suva show and some people who came in at the last minute had to go home disappointed but I am urging the Nausori audience and those that missed the Suva show last night to get the tickets early today so they can conveniently watch the performance of the stars.

We got a tremendous response from the audiences after the Suva show and are looking forward to another successful night in Nausori he added.

The western shows will be held on Thursday night at the Girmit Centre in Lautoka and on Friday night at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
