The Sri Subramnaiyam temple on the Southern edge of town.

Even if your time is limited the opportunity to get out and discover the best of Nadi should not be missed.

You can stay a while or take a day trip to one or more of the resorts scattered throughout the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands, sample the local Fijian, Indian, Chinese and European cuisine, visit the Sri Subramnaiyam temple on the southern edge of town and if you're in town in June or October watch the Nadi horse races at the Votualevu Race Track.

For more active entertainment there's the jetboat ride down the Nadi River, or white water rafting down one of the many inland rivers.

Out on the water try windsurfing, sailing, surfing or diving in the prisitine waters of islands that are sheltered by the outer reef. On land have a game of golf at Denarau or take a hike into the mountains.

Other places for the individual Nadi experience are: First Landing: According to local legend, when Fijians first came to the islands, they landed at Vuda Point.

Today, there is a beach restaurant and bar there, quite appropriately known at First Landing.

A wonderfully, warm Fijian welcome awaits everyone at this special place. Just 13kms north of Nadi International Airport, First Landing has a beautiful white sandy beach with the Mamanuca Islands providing a spectacular backdrop.

You'll find food and atmosphere like nowhere else.

Momi Bay Gun site: A relic of the Second World War. Constructed by the New Zealand Navy to protect Fiji, this interesting site offers spectacular views of Momi Bay and the Mamanuca group.

Garden of the Sleep Giant: The garden contains a collection of 30 to 40 varieties of magnificent Asia orchids and Cattley hybrids. It was once the private collection of the late American actor, Raymond Burr.

Now open to the public, the garden is a spot to spend a day just wandering along the canopy-covered boardwalk, through landscaped lawns, across lily ponds with trickling fountains into the heart of a dense rainforest.

The tour desk operator at your resort or the Fiji Visitors Bureau, located at the Nadi Airport Concourse are only too happy to help you see more of Nadi and surrounding areas.
