Flight scare as tyre blows upon landing

Passengers onboard  the Fiji Airways flight FJ 152 from Taveuni to Nadi experienced a slight scare yesterday when the aircraft they were travelling blew a tyre upon landing.

Fiji Airways confirms there were 14 passengers and two crew members on board at the time of the incident.

In a statement, the airline said immediate action was taken following the landing. All 14 guests disembarked normally and were met by our Fiji Link Management team at the domestic terminal.

It said those with onward connections this evening have been escorted to the international terminal where they are awaiting their flights in the Fiji Airways lounge.

The passengers are being provided with all necessary assistance and support for their onward journeys.

“Fiji Airways assures that the safety and well-being of our guests and crew remain our utmost priority. All necessary measures are being taken to investigate the incident and rectify the situation,” the statement said.
