Fiji’s lone female professional footballer and Kula Girls striker Trina Davis has urged the Baby Bula Boys to play their hearts out against Samoa in the OFC U17 Championship today.
Davis, who was part of Fiji’s campaign at the OFC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in July last year, recently underwent a leg surgery and is in Seattle in the States with her family.
The 21-year-old said the players have received the much-needed training and it’s now time to put their plan into action.
The former Israeli club ASA Tel Aviv star also advised the players to play humble and smart football while having national pride on their minds.
“To the Under 17, I wish you the best of luck in this tournament.”
“You have a ton of support from all around and in Fiji.”
“Always play your hearts out every time you go on the field in the national jersey, remember why you play and have fun.”
“All of your hard training is finished and now is the time to put it to use. Can’t wait to watch and support you all!! Go make Fiji proud and best of luck.”
Fiji plays Samoa in its first match at 7 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.
