Krishna has confidence in youngsters

Bula Boys Captain and top Bengaluru FC finisher Roy Krishna is confident Fiji will win the OFC U17 Championship on home soil and progress to the FIFA World Cup in Peru later this year.

Krishna told FijiLive the team has prepared well and the youngsters should do the nation proud.

“I think the coach has done a wonderful job finding players locally and overseas. You can really see a good balance in the team. They’ve spent some quality time together as well so I’m certain they will have a successful outing.”

“I had a zoom call with the whole team and staff together a few weeks ago. I had told them to enjoy every moment when they take on the field. We are not always lucky to host tournaments like these where you get to play in front of your families and friends so it’s an added bonus and definitely an advantage for Fiji.”

“I believe the boys can achieve a lot during this competition. It would also boost their morale if they are able to achieve what our national u19 boys achieved in Tahiti. I have complete faith in our Baby Bula Boys and I’m sure they will definitely leave a lasting impression. From what I’ve seen so far, the future of football in Fiji is looking very bright.”

“I would encourage all the fans to come down and support our boys and they are the future stars of Fiji. They need all the support to push them forward,” he added.

Fiji will play the Cook Islands in the third quarterfinal at 4pm on Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
