FRU CEO O’Connor resigns

Fiji Rugby chief executive John O’Connor has resigned effective immediately, after six years in the role.

FRU Board Director Tevtia Tuiloa will be the acting chief executive from today.

FRU Chair Commodore Humphrey Tawake said the position of CEO will be advertised.

He said they will then go through the recruitment process and the best candidate will be selected for the role.

He also mentioned the day-of-day operation at the rugby house will continue as normal with teams preparing for international meets and the domestic competition at home.

“Our international and local commitments do carry on and there is nothing that will have an impact and all our stakeholders including the trustees will be officially informed accordingly through the proper channels,” he said.
