Hockey gets timely boost ahead of World Cup

The Fiji Hockey Federation has announced the receipt of a substantial $102,000 grant from the Fiji Sports Commission.

This grant, which has been facilitated by the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Ministry of Finance, is a critical component in covering the flight costs for the national teams’ participation in the upcoming 5s World Cup.

President Emi Nawaqakuta expressed her gratitude, stating, “This grant significantly boosts our collective efforts, bringing us one step closer to achieving our financial target for the World Cup campaign.”

The federation is also in active discussions with Fiji Airways and other stakeholders to secure reduced airfares, furthering their commitment to ensure the teams are fully supported in their international endeavors.

With the World Cup in sight, the Fiji Hockey Federation acknowledges the tremendous support of the Fijian government and looks forward for more future partnerships.
