India remains committed, Modi assures Rabuka

India remains strongly committed to working closely with Fiji to help achieve its developmental goals through partnership and technical assistance, says Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In his congratulatory letter to recently elected Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Modi said special focus will be on combating the impact of climate change, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

He said India and Fiji share warm and friendly relations based on mutual respect, goodwill and strong people-to-people ties and the 12th World Hindi Conference which is jointly hosted by Fiji and India in Fiji on 15 to 17 February in 2023, symbolises the close partnership and strong linkages between our two countries.

Modi looks forward to working closely with Rabuka to enhance the close and long-standing relations between our two countries across all areas of common endeavor and mutual interest.

With over 50 years of diplomatic relations and friendship, Fiji and India’s cooperation is characterized by mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty, common development and shared prosperity.

Fiji’s High Commission based in India and the Indian High Commission in Fiji, works in partnership for the advancement of development priorities and shared aspirations of both the nations.
