Inter-Party Committee to be set up

The Coalition Partners will create an Inter-Party Policy Committee to monitor the progress and provide advice and feedback to the leaders of the People’s Alliance, National Federation Party and the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

This is the understanding after the three Political Parties signed the agreement, sealing the deal forward for the Coalition Government.

The agreement states the Parties will ensure that the Committee is adequately resourced and regular meetings are scheduled.

The Committee will have three members from each Party, and the position of Chairperson will be rotated as decided by the Committee.

However, the agreement did not specify a timeframe of when the Committee would be up and running.

Last week, the People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka, NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad and SODELPA President, Ratu Manoa Roragaca signed the Coalition Agreement at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel.
