Karan wins Sunshine Coast Challenge

Fiji’s Pacific Games golden boy Yeshnil Karan took out the Sunshine Coast Track Challenge and beat some of Queensland’s best middle-distance athletes in the 3000m race on Saturday.

Karan showcased his talent and sheer dedication, clocking an outstanding Personal Best of 8 mins 17.79 secs.

This was his his first race of the 2024 Track season as he prepares for Olympic Qualification.

The achievement of the weekend puts the Tavua native just 4 seconds behind the 52-year-old Fiji National Record held by Usaia Sotutu since 1971.
