Krishna puts Bengaluru in playoffs

Roy Krishna scored a goal in Bengaluru FC’s 3-nil win against Jamshedpur FC to register a third consecutive win in Match week 16 of the Indian Super League 2022-23 today.

Bengaluru FC’s win has now put them an inch closer to the final playoff spot while they move to the seventh place, three points ahead of Chennaiyin FC and just one behind FC Goa.

The game got off to a bright start, with both sides treading into opposition territory and testing waters regularly.

Prabir Das pounced on Krishna’s through pass down the right flank before whipping a cross towards the far post, where Rohit’s side-footed volley put Bengaluru FC in front in the eighth minute.

Jamshedpur FC really tested Bengaluru’s defense by Eli Sabia, Harry Sawyer and Daniel Chukwu.

Bengaluru FC showed the importance of the match just after the 30th-minute mark when Krishna fired a shot from 30 yards out and caught the hosts off guard and led by 2-nil at the break.

The third and final goal of the match came just after the hour-mark when Siva Narayanan unleashed a left-footed drive from the edge of the box after drifting in from the right flank.

Jamshedpur FC’s next challenge will be against Mumbai City FC on 27 January while Bengaluru FC will now play Chennaiyin FC a day later.
