Let Camaraderie, sportsmanship shine: PM

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has urged Team Fiji to let the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define our nation shine through, fostering a sense of unity and pride among our athletes at the 17th Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

Extending his heartfelt congratulations to each member of the remarkable 592 strong Team Fiji squad, the Prime Minister said he is aware of the sacrifices, challenges and triumphs that come with the pursuit of excellence in sports.

“Behind each one of you stands a network of unwavering support; your parents, families, and loved ones, who have been there during the grueling hours of training, offering encouragement and steadfast belief in your abilities.”

“The true measure of success lies not only in the competition results but in the countless hours of dedication and perseverance that each of you has invested.”

“Your commitment to reaching the pinnacle of physical and mental perfection has been the driving force through the days, months, and years of rigorous practice.”

He told the athletes that their presence marks the beginning of a thrilling adventure and trusts that they will carry the spirit of Fiji with them in every competition.

“Over the past 18 months, you have diligently prepared, and I extend my sincere gratitude to your families for their unwavering support throughout this journey. It is a collective effort, and their encouragement and sacrifices have played an integral role in bringing us to this moment.”

“I believe in your potential, dedication, and indomitable spirit. Aim high, compete with honour, and, most importantly, savour every moment of this incredible journey.”

“I am optimistic that, as a united Team Fiji, you will surpass the achievements of the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa and make our nation proud.”
